Fideris

Fideris ( Walser German [ fɪd̥ɾɪʃ ]; ? Romansh Fadrein / i ) is a village in Prättigau intermediaries, each owner civic community, Reformed church community and the political community. Geography

The municipality is situated on the southern side of the central Prättigau. Apart from the main settlement, the cross-shaped landscaped street Fideris village on a terrace above the mouth of Arieschbaches in the country Quart, it includes the fractions Strahlegg beyond the Arieschtobels and Fideris - Au in the bottom of the main valley.

The territory largely coincides with the catchment area of ​​the Arieschbaches and extends from the country fourth in the north to the watershed against the Schanfigg. The semi-circular end of the valley is occupied by the extended Alps Fideriser Heuberge, behind the summit of Mattjisch Horn rise ( 2'461 m above sea level. History

In the eastern part of the village Madinis a 25 cm long lance tip from the Late Bronze Age was found.

Languages

In the early Middle Ages, the population of the community still spoke Ladino; the Romanesque village name is Fadrein. In the 14th century migrated to Walser, whose presence is attested to Tarnutz since 1389. At the Reformation the Germanization was completed. The only official language of the municipality is German. Religions - faiths

Fideris took in 1530 to the new ( reformed ) doctrine, which dominated for centuries. By leaving the church and immigration, the religious conditions have changed in the last decades. In 2000, there were 84 % Evangelical Protestant and 9% Roman Catholic Christians.

Origin - Nationality

From the end of 2004 599 inhabitants were 579 ( = 96.66 %), Swiss citizen. At the last census was 554 ( = 94.54 %), Swiss nationals, including six dual citizen. The largest immigrant groups come from Germany, Portugal and Italy.

Attractions
