Fieldbus Foundation

The Fieldbus Foundation is a US-based organization whose members mainly companies that develop fieldbus systems or components for it and produce. It was founded in September 1994 by the merger of two organizations that were independent until then, the WorldFIP North America and the Interoperable Systems Project ( ISP). In the merger, it included about 350 member companies. The aim of the organization is to develop Community standards and to submit appropriate standardization proposals, such as the IEC.
