FIL World Luge Natural Track Championships 1979

The first FIL Natural Track Luge World Cup took place from January 30 to February 4, 1979 in Inzing in Austria.

Single Seater Men

First world champion in the men's single seater was the Austrian Werner Prantl, who also won the doubles bronze. Silver went to Damiano Lugon from Italy, who had a few days earlier won the European Championship. Third-placed Italians Erich Graber had already won the 1974 and 1977 European Championship.
