Filip Flisar

Filip Flisar ( born September 28, 1987 in Maribor) is a Slovenian freestyle skis. He specializes in the discipline of ski cross. His biggest success is winning the ski cross World Cup rankings in the season 2011 /12.

Biography

At the start of his racing career was an alpine ski racer Flisar. From December 2002 he went to to FIS races and specialized over time to the speed disciplines Downhill and Super -G. In 2007 he came to five appearances in the European Cup, but did not have a 40th place out. In the same year Flisar took part in the Junior World Championship, where he was eighth in the downhill sixth and in Super -G. This remained his only notable successes, so he turned to ski cross.

His debut in the Freestyle World Cup had Flisar in Grindelwald, he placed but only on rank 53 On 11 January 2009 he took on 6 March 2008, the only time at a World Cup event in the halfpipe and won the 28th World Cup points for the first time. The first Ski Cross World Cup points followed on 19 February 2009 with number 22 in Myrdalen - Voss. In January 2010 he joined the World Cup among the top ten in eighth at the Olympic Winter Games 2010, he scored his best result until then.

Flisars best ranking in the World Cup season 2010/11 was a 4th place. After a slow start to the season he was rather surprising celebrate his first World Cup victory in L' Alpe d' Huez on 11 January 2012. At the Winter X Games 2012 he won the silver medal. With two more victories, he secured the win the overall World Cup ski cross of the season 2011/12.
