Filippos Tsitos

Filippos Tsitos; Greek Φιλίππος Τσίτος or Filippos Tsitos, initially also Tsitos Philip (* 1966 in Athens, Greece), is a film and television director, who has worked in Germany and Greece.

Career

Filippos Tsitos studied marketing and worked as a photographer and in the area of ​​promotion as well as for the radio. In 1991 he moved to Berlin, where he studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy and began to stage first self-written short films.

His emigrants piece Parlez -moi d' amour (1994 ) won in this context, several awards, including the German Short Film Award in Gold. Tsitos ' first feature film was followed by My Sweet Home (2001) also in its screenplay. The film, Nadja Uhl in the lead role was internationally at festivals and was nominated in 2001, among others for the " Golden Bear " at the Berlinale. Thereafter Tsitos worked increasingly for German television and directed episodes of the TV crime series Tatort (2002-2010), KDD - Kriminaldauerdienst (2007), Stolberg (2010) and The criminalist ( 2011). Tsitos was at the Greek television series Amyna Zonis (2008) involved.
