Filiz Husmenova

Filis Hakaewa Chusmenowa (also Filiz Hakaeva Hyusmenova written, Bulgarian Филиз Хакъева Хюсменова; born June 10, 1966 in Silistra, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian ethnic Turkish politician of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF ) and a member of the European Parliament. She is married, has one child and speaks Turkish and Bulgarian nor French, and Russian.

Filis has a degree in French and Russian philology at the University "St. Cyril and Methodius " completed in Veliko Tarnovo.

She was an assistant for French at the Faculty of Education, University of Russe ( 1990), then an expert on foreign languages ​​in the Regional Inspectorate of the Ministry of Education and Science, Silistra (1997). Deputy Mayor of the municipality of Silistra it was 1999, Alternate Governor of the administrative district of Silistra 2001.

Between 2003 and 2005 she was Minister without portfolio in the government of Simeon Saxe-Coburg Gotha. In 2005 she was elected as an MP in the 40th National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. Since 2006 she is member of the Central Executive Bureau of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms.

2007 Filis Chusmenowa was elected in the 2007 European elections on the list of DPS as a member of the European Parliament. In the European elections 2009, she was confirmed in office.

As an MEP she is Deputy Chair of the Committee for Regional Development.

It is a member of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia; and in the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly EURO- NEST.

Deputy it is in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs and the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China.
