Final Fantasy III is part of the Final Fantasy series. In the original version on the NES, it was only in Japan, published on 27 April 1990. It is not to be confused with the North American FF III, Final Fantasy VI corresponds.

It is the last part, which appeared on the Nintendo Entertainment System. The plot is entwined as in previous games by four children, who are appointed by the light crystals as a Warrior of Light to save the world. For the first time here the job system use, which is taken up again in FF V: The main characters can get classic role-playing professional classes to take (for example, Mage, Hunter, Paladin ) and build so many different skills. In FF III have many items that have become cult in the series, their origin.

It was developed for the Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy III, which was released in Japan on 24 August 2006. On the first day 309,000 units have been sold.
