Findchóem

Finncháem [' f ʴ iNxaiv ], also Findchóem, Finnchóem, Findcháem or Fionnchaomh is, in Celtic mythology of Ireland, a legendary figure from the Ulster Cycle.

Mythology

Finncháem is the wife of the poet Amairgin mac ECIT Salaig, the daughter of the Druid Cathbad and Nessa's, and the sister of Elbha and Deichtire. Her son is the hero Conall Cernach and she is also the foster mother of Deichtires son Sétanta mac Sualtaim (after his father Sualtam ), later known as Cu Chulainn, the main hero of Ulster (see also Compert Con Chulainn ). From the fact that Conall Cernach and Cú Chulainn are pulling brothers, resulting in the prequel to the Táin Bó Cuailnge ( " The Cattle Raid of Cooley " ) described tense friendship between the two, as in the tale Fled Bricrenn ( " Bricrius ' hard ' ) is described.
