Finn Bjørnseth

Finn Bjørnseth ( born July 15, 1924 in Oslo, † November 25, 1973 ) was a Norwegian writer, who is best known as the author of short stories.

Life

Bjørnseth was the son of an official. He lived a few years after graduation, first in France, then as a freelance writer in Bergen. His first book was the short story collection uncer nice, which appeared in 1951. In 1960 he was awarded the Literature Prize Legat Gyldendals.

A basic theme in Bjørnseths prose is love, but he also carries criticism of society by building up tensions between his protagonist and social conventions. His poetry is political. It is directed against nuclear weapons and war. Some works have a religious background.
