Finnlines

Finnlines Oyj ( Finland Lines Ltd. ) is a Finnish shipping company freight traffic in Northern and Western Europe, as well as passenger traffic on the Baltic Sea.

In the past Finn Lines vessels operating under the brand names Finncarriers, Finn Flow Systems, Finnjet Lines and FG Shipping Oy AB. Since 2006, the Italian Grimaldi Group owns a majority stake in Finn Lines. Currently, their share is 64.9 % of the shares. History

Finn Lines was founded on 18 April 1947. In May and June, three ships were purchased for transport in Europe. In the same year it was decided to operate with ships between America and Finland. To this end, they purchased the steamers Hamina, Pankakoski and Tornator.

Opened in 1962, Finn Lines ferry Hansa Express a route from Hanko over Visby on Gotland to Travemünde. Lübeck- Travemünde - Malmö

Under the name Nordö Link Finn Lines offers passenger and cargo services between Lübeck- Travemünde ( Germany ) and Malmö (Sweden). This route is served by three ro-pax ferries currently. In mid-February 2009, the Northern Link was removed from the route. The Europalink changed mid-April 2009 also on the Lübeck- Travemünde - Helsinki route and was replaced by the Finneagle.
