Fins, Somme
Fins is a commune with 283 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Somme in the Picardie region, in the north of France. The municipality belongs to the canton Roisel and is part of the municipal association Communauté de communes du canton de Roisel.
Geography
The community is located at the intersection of department streets 917 (formerly National Road N17 Paris - Senlis - Cambrai ), the kink here from a northern course in a north-eastern course, D58 ( part of the system of Chaussée Brune skin) and D55 13 km north- northeast of Peronne in Vermandois.
Toponymy and history
The community name is derived according to the location near the border between the tribes of the Belgian Nervians and Viromanduer and between the dioceses of Cambrai and Noyon from the Latin term " fines" (border).
The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
