Finspång Municipality

Finspång is a municipality (in Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Östergötland County and the historic province of Östergötland. The main town of the municipality is Finspång. Other places are Borggård, Butbro, Falla, Grytgöl, Hällestad, Idelfors, Ljusfallshammar, Lotorp, Rejmyre, Sonstorp and other smaller towns.

Geography

The municipal area is a hilly landscape with numerous small lakes.

Economy

Ore deposits in the municipal area have led to Finspång and the surrounding villages were dominated by iron and steel works in the 16th century. Even today Borggård, Grytgöl, Igelfors, Rejmyre and Finspång important industrial towns.
