Fire Over England

Fire Over England is a British period film, the William K. Howard directed in 1936. The screenplay is based on a novel by Alfred Edward Woodley Mason. In Germany the film learned his cinema debut on 13 April 1960.

Action

1587 is running the English Kingdom of Spain danger of being overtaken as the most powerful nation. The beloved by the people, Queen Elizabeth must be very skilled in the diplomatic negotiations with Spain. It applies both to cultivate the friendship of the Spanish King Philip. The wounded Michael manages to get to the Spanish shore, where it is maintained by Miguel's daughter Elena, who soon falls in love with the young Englishman.

Background

The role of James Mason is not mentioned in the credits.
