Fireflight

Fireflight is a Christian rock band that was formed in Eustis, Florida in 1999. The band is at Flicker Records, a subsidiary of Sony BMG, under contract.

History

The guitarist Justin and Glenn went to school together. Glenn had the idea to start with his wife Wendy and Justin a band. Dawn and Phee came after the band. For their first show, the band did not even have a name. Dawn suggested the name " Fireflight " before - but the name Fireflight has no meaning, as the band had betrayed in an interview.

After years of touring ( 140 shows per year), they released their debut album The Healing of Harms, from which the two No. 1 singles You Decide and Waiting were released in 2006. The song You Decide with Josh Brown of Day of Fire was in August 2006, the top request on TVU Music Television and the second most played song on the Christian rock radio stations after September 1, 2006.

They were, among others, with Disciple, Family Force 5, and Decyfer Down at "The Scars Remain" tour. During this tour, she wrote on her second album Unbreakable and published it the single of the same also. In writing this album, the band had an "emotional roller-coaster ride ". Wendy described on their MySpace page, how stressful and intense was the whole thing:

" It felt like when things were out of control. We had gone through a difficult year as a band with a lot of emotional ups and downs. We basically lived while writing the new album together in a van, and that was for us an incredible pressure cooker. We poured all of our hope, sadness, anger, dreams and fears into the music. "

Their third studio album For Those Who Wait was released on February 9, 2010. Among the singles For Those Who Wait and Desperate music videos were also filmed. The album debuted at # 5 on the Billboard Hot Christian charts - and was also the highest ever chart position. Fireflight was with this album for "Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album " nominated at the 53rd Grammy Awards, but were subject to the band Switchfoot with their album Hello Hurricane. In February 2011, drummer Phee Shorb left the band to become a Christian speaker; He was replaced by Adam McMillion.

The single from the upcoming album Stay Close Now has already been published on the Winter Jam Tour 2011, in addition to this, a video was shot. On 6 March 2012, the latest album Now was finally published; until July 15, it was sold more than 40,000 times.
