First Impressions of Earth is the third album by the American rock band The Strokes. It was released in Germany on 30 December 2005, in the United States. Already the advance single Juicebox was coupled on 3 January 2006. The album peaked in the U.S. Billboard charts with 88,000 copies sold 4th place by October 2006, there was more than 270,000 times over the counter. The British music magazine NME said the album for the eight best album of 2006.

The band wanted the album, as can also produce the first album Is This It, by Gordon Raphael, but the guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. made ​​known the band with Grammy-winning producer David Kahne and who was working then on with Raphael. However, this cooperation did not work particularly well. Raphael got out and Kahne produced the majority of the album alone.

First Impressions of Earth is the first album of the band that bears the Parental Advisory sticker.
