Fisher King

The Fisher King ( Old French roi peschierres ) is in legends of the Holy Grail of the guardian of the Grail. He was by Robert de Boron, a son of Veronica, sister of Joseph de Berimathie (Joseph of Arimathea ). In Chrétien de Troyes he is a maternal uncle of Perceval.

In Perlesvaus he is Josue, the son of Glais and brother Alain, the father of Perlesvaus ( Parzival ). His descendants are here Aminadap, Catheloys, Manaal, Lamborghini, Pelleams ( the lame king) and Pelles, who becomes the grandfather of Galahad by Lancelot.

Modern treatments

In T.S. Eliot's poem The Waste Land ( The Waste Land ) from 1922 also plays the Fisher King an important role.
