Fishing lure

A lure is an existing fishing used, mainly from metal, wood, plastic and synthetic materials imitation of various Nährtiere of mainly predatory fish ( smaller fish and insects) which, equipped with hook and pulled through the water ( Spinning ) or drifting on the water ( fly fishing ), which exert different stimuli on hunting fish and entice them to bite. Not always imitate the lure directly food of the hoped prey, often they simply awaken their aggression and hunting instinct, similar to cat toy, which stimulates a cat to attack, even though it has no similarity with mouse or bird.

Types of lures

  • Indicators are the easiest lure. They only consist of a metal sheet, which staggers through the water at the train on the fishing line. This method has been particularly successful for pike fishing because of the flasher imitates a small, sick fish. But even perch can be caught with this method when the turn signal is not too big fails.
  • Spinner (also spinner blade ) (derived from English to spin ): A metal blade that rotates about an axis and to train through the thus formed stimuli ( pressure waves ) led predators to bite. Through these pressure waves the lateral line organ ( Ferntastsinn ) of the fish is irritated.
  • Wobbler imitate when pulling through the water with rocking movements sick fishes, which represent an attractive prey for predators. Plugs have a diving lip, the shape of which results in the movement and is decisive for the diving depth.
  • Surface bait, such as Popper distinguished by the fact that they float on the surface and does not dive when pulling. By briefly breaking through the water surface with air bubbles can be sucked under the water, which lead to a popping sound. This is to attract the attention of predators.
  • Jerkbaits ( from English to jerk ) are similar to large wobblers, but have no diving lip. There are both floating and more or less rapidly sinking models. The delightful movement must them be mediated by jerky bait. There are two possible movement patterns are roughly distinguished: the horizontal left-right movements at the sliders and the vertical sawtooth at the Divers or Pullbaits. The movements differ according to the type, form and guidance from soft to jagged.
  • Pirk are lures that are used in marine fish. They imitate a sickly little fish in the sinking phase and are usually provided with a drilling as Anbisstelle.
  • Soft Baits consist of soft materials, often sooner PVC with plasticizers, lately environmentally friendly materials such as silicone are often used. The most common types are called Twister ( worm- like ) and Shad ( fish-like ) or soft jerks, which are becoming increasingly popular especially when drop shot fishing.
  • Aerobatics consist of feathers, fur and other materials that are bound by special binding techniques on a hook shank. Aerobatics is mainly used when fly fishing and mostly imitate fish or insects occurring in and around water.
