Five Iron Frenzy

Five Iron Frenzy (or simply FIF) is a Christian ska-punk band from Denver (USA).

History

Five Iron Frenzy was a music project of Ropers, Ortega, and Kerr's band Hoerigs Exhumator. The members of Exhumator wanted to mix things up with this project, the local music scene a bit and signed in 1996, after initial successes, a recording contract with Frank Tate's 5 minutes Walk Records. This was followed by a one-year tour of America.

1998 then left songwriter and rhythm guitarist Scott Kerr, the band to start his own project Yellow Second. He was replaced by Sonnie Johnston. The popularity of Five Iron Frenzy grew in 2000 with the release of the album All The Hype That Money Can Buy.

In December 2002, the band announced that they will disband after the upcoming tour. They played their last concert on 22 November 2003 at the Auditorium of Fillmore in Denver, which was watched by more than 4,000 spectators.

2011 followed by a surprising comeback. On 22 November, it announced the band on Facebook. They asked for $ 30,000 donations in 2013 to release a new CD, which came together with donations from fans in less than an hour. The comeback album Engine of a Million plots appeared in December 2013.

Style

Musically, Five Iron Frenzy move between numerous styles, from ska, punk and rock to metal and hip -hop, they process very ironic part and satirize (especially good this can prove on the Quantity Is Job 1 EP, is ridiculed on a lyrical theme in numerous musical styles ).

Melodic dominate, especially in the choruses, the wind. Most of the pieces are based on simple punk structures, however, are played clean and shine partly by demanding bass lines.

The texts range in content from pure nonsense about serious texts that critically deal with the negative excesses of capitalism and modern society, to deep Christian beliefs and worship.
