Fjölnir

Fjölnir in Norse mythology is the son of the Vanir Freyr and the Gerdr. He was a Ynglingenkönig and met his death in which he drowned during a drinking session in a barrel of mead. That Fjölnir was not just an unimportant or late legendary figure, shows his mention at Skalden Thjodolfr or Hvini (9th century ). Although he only little is handed down, it was speculated in research much about him, where the interpretation is most appealing as a field God.

Fjölnir ( ' the much knower ' ) is also a frequently mentioned in the Edda and Skaldik epithet of Odin.
