FK DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda
FK DAC Dunajská Streda ( officially: FK DAC 1904, as) is a Slovak football club from Dunajská Streda. Successfully, the club was mainly the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Club history
The club was founded in 1904 as Dunaszerdahelyi Atlétikai Club. For many years in the lower leagues of the DAC in 1985 was promoted to the first Czechoslovak league. In 1987 the team won the Slovak and Czechoslovak Cup. In Europe Cup Winners' Cup 1987/88 the DAC separated already in the first round against BSC Young Boys 2:1 and 1:3. This season has been reached with the third place in the league and the best result in the club's history. 1988/89 played Dunajská Streda thus in the UEFA Cup. In the first round of the Swedish representatives Östers IF was defeated with 0:2 and 6:0, the second-round opponents Bayern Munich proved to be too strong, the DAC lost with 1:3 and 0:2. 1992/93 the team finished fourth in the league and was allowed in 1993/94 re- start in the UEFA Cup. However, the DAC did not progress beyond the first round: Both at home and abroad defeated the team of the SV Austria Salzburg 0-2. In the newly formed Slovak League of DAC played in the early years with the front, from the mid- 1990s, the results were weaker and weaker, until finally in 1998 the descent could not be avoided. Although succeeded the immediate resurgence, but after the reduction of the Championship from 16 to ten teams you had after only one year in the second division. There, the DAC played continuously since 2000, before 2008, the return to the Corgoň league succeeded. Since then, the club plays in the top Slovak league. In the 2012/13 season DAC plays again in the 2nd Football League.
