FK Varnsdorf
The SK Slovan Varnsdorf is a Czech football club from the border town of Varnsdorf.
Club history
Varnsdorf possessed until 1945 by a majority German population. In 1907, the first football club was founded in the village with the DTC warning village in 1912 was followed by the SK Edelgrund, who was called from 1919 SK Germania warning village. The DFC and Germania joined 1931 Warnsdorfer FK together in 1940 to NSTG was.
The Czech minority founded in 1938, the SK Hraničáři Varnsdorf. After the expulsion of the German population after the end of World War II SK Hraničáři was initially the only club in the city. In the late 1940s, the club came under the patronage of the elite plants and traded from now on under the name Sokol Elite Varnsdorf. In 1952 came with Sokol Velveta Varnsdorf - this club was subordinate to the Velveta plant - another club.
Both elite and Velveta took in 1952 at the Krajská soutěž part. This was the time after the first nationwide league 's second highest league in which participated more than 200 teams. Only one year later, in 1953, it came as part of a reorganization of the Czechoslovak Sports also to a merger of the two clubs Varnsdorfer elite and Velveta: the new club was called Jiskra and played mediocre now. As early as 1955 there was a further reorganization, which Jiskra was only viertklassig. In 1957 Jiskra merged with Spartak Varnsdorf to Slovan Varnsdorf. This name has maintained until today the club.
By 1975, the clubs used in the Varnsdorf 1911 by DFC built square near the railway station. In 1967 began the construction of a new stadium ( Kotlina or Kotline v ) near the school. The stadium at the station was demolished and replaced by buildings of Velveta plant.
Slovan took until the late 1990s nationally never in appearance, in 1998, the team's promotion to the CFL, the third highest Czech league.
