Flag of the Republic of Karelia

The flag of the Republic of Karelia was introduced on 16 February 1993.

She was laid down in Article 12 of the Constitution of the Republic of Karelia.

It consists of three horizontal stripes. The upper is red, the middle blue and the lower green.

Historical flags

Prior to the establishment of the Soviet Union (about 1920-1922 )

Karelian Bear Soviet Socialist Republic (1940-1952)

Karelian Bear Soviet Republic (1952-1956)

Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1956-1991)
