Flairck
Flairck is a Dutch music group that was founded in 1976 by guitarist Erik Visser. The name is due to a composition from the English word vlerk flair and the Dutch word for a nimble-fingered hand. The name should bring the influences of different cultures and styles of music in the plays of the group expressed.
Band History
The founding members of the band were
- Erik Visser ( guitar, sitar, mandola, mandolin )
- Judy Schomper (violin)
- Peter Weekers (flute, bagpipes )
- Hans Visser ( guitar)
Flairck worked with a variety of well-known musicians such as Georges Moustaki and Maggie Reilly and orchestras. Tours, the group led across Europe but also to Asia, Australia and North and South America.
Stylistics
The group plays almost exclusively his own compositions on acoustic instruments. Formally, the music is Flaircks chamber music, but has, in addition roots in classical music also has strong references to jazz, folk and blues on.
