Flandy Limpele

Flandy Limpele ( born February 9, 1974 in Manado ) is an Indonesian badminton player.

In 2003 Flandy won with his partner Eng Hian the men's doubles at the Swiss Open and at the German Open.

Limpele played at the 2004 Olympics in the men's doubles with his partner Eng Hian. They had a bye in the first round and defeated in the second round Anthony Clark and Nathan Robertson from the UK. In the quarterfinals Limpele and Hian Yim Bang -eun and Kim Yong -hyun of South Korea beat with 15:1, 15:10. They lost in the semi-final against Kim Dong -moon and Ha Tae- kwon of South Korea with 15:8, 15:2, but again won the match against Jens Eriksen and Martin Lundgaard Hansen of Denmark 15:13, 15:7, and won so the bronze medal.

At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he joined with partner Vita Marissa and was placed at position 3 in the mixed doubles. Here they won in the first round against the German pair Birgit Overzier and Kristof Hopp in two sets. On 17 August 2008, the Chinese Yu Yang and He Hanbin played against Vita Marissa and Flandy Limpele to the Olympic bronze medal in the mixed doubles. The Chinese won the game in 73 minutes by 19-21, 21-17, 23-21.
