Flavoprotein

Flavoproteins are proteins as a cofactor Flavinnukleotide ( flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD ), flavin mononucleotide ( FMN) ) included.

Are enzymes that catalyze redox reactions, flavin serves as an electron transfer agent which can be reversibly oxidized and reduced.

Flavoproteins are essential for all processes of cellular respiration because they are involved in the corresponding electron transport chains. Examples include the succinate dehydrogenase and glucose - oxidase.
