Fleet Street

Fleet Street is a famous street in London, England. At its western end is the limit point of Temple Bar is named the road after the river River Fleet, which was channeled underground.

Fleet Street has traditionally been the home of the British press since the 18th century. Already the first daily newspaper in England, the Daily Courant, had from 1702 its editorial headquarters in a building in Fleet Street. Over the next nearly 300 years, many other newspapers and news agencies joined added. This only changed when the media tycoon Rupert Murdoch began in 1986 after Wapping with the move his press group. Today in the building, especially law offices and court offices have moved.
