Flicka - freedom. Friendship. Adventure is a film directed by Michael Mayer from 2006 This is a remake of the movie Flicka. ( Original title: My Friend Flicka ) from 1943, based on the novel by Mary O'Hara from the year 1941.
Action
The 16 -year-old Katy comes from a private school on the ranch her family to Wyoming back. The horsewoman is there in the head, a wild horse that she calls Flicka, to tame. Her father would rather send to college and sold the horse to a rodeo organizer. To get back the horse, she wants to take part yourself at a rodeo. But when she wins the rodeo and rides home, an accident happens, which ends almost fatal to Flicka.

The website Rotten Tomatoes analyisierte 75 reviews, of which only 53% were positive. The page summarizes that children could identify with the rebellious main character, but adults would a movie with " flat characters, exaggerated dialogue and a story that wanders out into the country and never return " find.
Continuations
2010 appeared the continuation Flicka 2 - Friends for Life, the film was released direct-to - DVD production. In June 2012, a second sequel followed, entitled Flicka 3 - Best Friends. Directed by Michael Damian in both titles.
