Florencio Pozadas

Florencio jerk Pozadas Cordero ( born November 7, 1939 in Potosi, † December 8, 1968 in Buenos Aires ) was a Bolivian percussionist and composer, pioneer of electroacoustic music and post- serial composition techniques in Bolivia.

Florencio Pozadas received his musical training in Potosí and Buenos Aires. He studied violin studies at the Academia de Bellas Artes ( Potosi ) and the Conservatorio Municipal Manuel de Falla ( Buenos Aires ). Later he studied composition with Gerardo Gandini and won a scholarship 1967-1968 for a postgraduate degree at the CLAEM (Centro Latinoamericano de Altos Estudios Musicales del Instituto Torcuato Di Tella ) with Luigi Nono, Cristobal halter, Vladimir Ussachevsky and Roman hood -Ramati, also in Buenos Aires. He was a member of the percussion ensemble Ritmus (Director: Antonio Yepes ) and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Buenos Aires. His work for choir Tres Coro bolivianos won the first prize in the competition Luzmila Patiño in Cochabamba, Bolivia in 1965. He died in a traffic accident in 1968 near Buenos Aires.
