Sinama Pongolle (2011)

Sinama Pongolle ( born October 20, 1984 in Saint- Pierre on Réunion ) is a French football player.

Career

Born on the island of Réunion Frenchman began his career in mainland France at Le Havre AC, from where he moved to Liverpool in 2003. The striker joined in January 2006 on loan to Blackburn Rovers. After his return he was immediately awarded again, this time to the Spanish climber Recreativo Huelva. In summer 2008, he moved to Atlético Madrid. There he received from his teammates nicknamed " M'bele ".

Sinama Pongolle was elected at the U -17 World Cup 2001 player of the tournament and, furthermore scorer with nine goals. He has played 28 times for the French national team, starting with the youth. On 14 October 2008, he came in a friendly against Tunisia also his first short stint in the A- national team.

At the start of the winter transfer window 2009/2010 changed the Frenchman for 6.5 million euros for the Portuguese first division side Sporting Lisbon. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he was loaned for a year at the Spanish club Real Zaragoza. After a total of 24 league inserts and four goals, he returned to Lisbon, then to be awarded for 2011/12 season at the French club AS Saint- Étienne.
