Florin Marin

Florin Marin ( born May 19, 1953 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. He played a total of 281 games in the first Romanian League, the Divizia A. As a player, he won with Steaua Bucharest, the Romanian Cup in 1978 and the Cup in 1979, and with Rapid Bucharest the Romanian Cup in 1975. Since June 2011 he is assistant coach Victor Piţurcă in Romanian national team.

Career as a player

Florin Marin began playing football at Rapid Bucharest and came in the summer of 1972 in the squad for the first team, which at that time in the first Romanian League, the Divizia A, played. In the 1973/74 season he became the master force, however, had to stay with his team at the end of the season in the Divizia B. There he remained loyal to his club and made a year later, not only its chances of promotion, but also won the Cup victory in 1975 and his first title.

In the summer of 1976 Marin Rapid left for local rivals Steaua Bucharest. With Steaua after he won the runner-up in 1977 the championship title in 1978. According to the 1979 Cup victory, he could indeed qualify regularly with his club for the European Cup, but it sprang not add another championship. In 1984 he left for FC Arges Pitesti Bucharest, but only got to ten inserts and joined after a season Gloria Buzău. After one season with second division side FC Inter Sibiu he ended his active career in the summer of 1987.

Career as a coach

After his retirement in 1990 Marin assistant coach at Steaua Bucharest Costică Ştefănescu in summer. A year later he held the same position under Gheorghe Constantin at Rapid Bucharest before he head coach of Farul Constanta was founded in the summer of 1992. With Farul he could finish the following two seasons in a square in the upper middle, in the summer of 1994, he was replaced by Gheorghe Constantin, which he in turn inherited in the summer of 1995. Always summer of 1996 he left Farul to league rivals Piatra Neamţ Ceahlăul. A year later signed him runner- Naţional Bucharest, with whom he finished the 1997/98 season in fifth place. In the summer of 1998, Marin Head Coach of AS Rocar Bucharest in Divizia example was in the 1998/99 season he led his team in the Divizia A and there to avoid relegation, before he was replaced in the summer of 2000 by Dumitru Dumitriu.

In autumn 2002, Marin was for a few weeks as the successor of Ion Moldovan head coach of Dinamo Bucharest, before he was replaced by Cornel Dinu. In early 2003 he took over Astra Ploiesti, but had to go half a year later. In the season 2004/ 05 he worked for Ceahlăul in Divizia B. At the end of the season 2005/ 06 he was for a few weeks again coach of Dinamo Bucharest. In the summer of 2006, he took over first division side Jiul Petrosani, but was released there in October 2006. Shortly after, he replaced Ion Moldovan at Ceahlăul, was relegated with the club at the end of the 2006/07 season. Marin hired at newly Dacia Mioveni, where he had to go in October 2007. From summer 2008 until October 2009 he was once again working as head coach of Ceahlăul, with the rise in 2009 succeeded him.

In the summer of 2010, Marin assistant coach Victor Piţurcă at Steaua Bucharest, however, already left the club in August 2010, again after Piţurcă had left the club. He followed him to the FC Universitatea Craiova, where he worked as an assistant coach until January 2011. Since June 2011, Marin Piţurcăs is an assistant with the Romanian national team.
