Florinda Bolkan

Florinda Bolkan (actually Florinda Soares Bulcão; * February 15, 1941 in Uruburetama, Ceará ) is a Brazilian actress.

Life

Bolkan whose mother is Indian, had to ensure early for their own livelihood. In 1963 she visited London and Paris, where she already turned down offers as a model and returned to Brazil. In 1967, she was finally brought to Rome by Luchino Visconti to acting.

After the first film Una ragazza tutta Complicated (1968 ) she made fast foot in the movie business; her discovery that she held the following year. In the years 1971 and 1973 she won the David di Donatello for Best Actress. Bolkan played in artistically significant films as well as in goods exploitation and 1978 in a U.S. television series. For a time she lived in America before she returned to Italy, where she worked primarily in the theater.

By participating in the series The Octopus they became known to a new generation; further they played on the Italian stage and on television into the new millennium. In 2000 she produced the self-written film I did not know Tururu in which they also took over the lead role and directed. The film won several awards.

In addition Bolkan has published a cookbook and runs a charity for children.

Bolkans half-sister Sônia Ribeiro ( from the mother 's second marriage ) is since 1972 the wife of Willy Bogner junior, owner of German fashion company Bogner.
