Flowers and Trees

From flowers and trees is an American animated film by Burt Gillett from the year 1932. It was the first film that was awarded the Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film".

Action

A spring day begins. The trees awaken, the flowers wash in the lake and drive early morning exercise, springing up from the ground and a Millipede begins his day's work. During a deciduous tree man gently awakens a deciduous tree woman, an older tree stump is surly to be awakened. Sitting on his dead branches vultures, bats awaken in him and is close to an animal skull.

The deciduous tree man begins to ensnare the deciduous tree woman with harp music. While they flattered coy and differs from him, the old tree stump sneaks in and wants to kidnap. The deciduous tree man intervenes and saves the deciduous tree woman. It comes to a stick fight between two rivals, which is subject to the tree stump. He takes revenge, kindled a fire, and installs parts of the area on fire. Production

From flowers and trees appeared on 30 July 1932 in the Walt Disney Silly Symphonies series. The premiere took place the day before in Sid Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles. It served as a supporting film for Strange Interlude with Clark Gable of flowers and trees.

From flowers and trees was originally planned as a black and white movie, however, was the first Disney film created for testing purposes in the new 3 -color printing from Technicolor. This procedure resulted in the first time to natural colors in cartoons. From flowers and trees was a commercial success and a pioneer for the following colorized cartoons. He also helped the Disney cartoon series Silly Symphonies to popularity.

The film was released in German-speaking in 2004 as part of the Walt Disney Treasures DVD series, where he first received the German title of flowers and trees.
