Flowing Tears

Flowing Tears (until 1999 Flowing Tears and Withered Flowers) is a dark- rock band from Wadgassen (Landkreis Saarlouis ).

Band History

In 1994, Benjamin Buss ( guitar, keyboards ), Manfred Bersin (vocals), Björn Lorson (guitar), Christian Zimmer (drums) and Frederic Lesny ( bass), the band under the name Flowing Tears and Withered Flowers. Björn Lorson got out in 1995.

The debut album SWANSONGS, which in self-distribution was first available, released in 1996 on the Italian label Seven Art Music. After the publication of Christian Zimmer got out and was replaced by Eric Hilt. Manfred Bersin switched to guitar and Stefanie Duchêne a singer was brought to the band. Joy Parade followed in 1998. A European tour with The 3rd and the Mortal followed. After the tour they parted, however, by their record company and brought their EP Swallow ( 1999) out in the self-distribution. In the same year one of the songs appeared on the Outrageous Supplement to the Rock Hard magazine.

Century Media showed interest in the band and took them under contract. A tour with The Gathering was the first action of the record label for the band. Jade then appeared under the band name shortened Flowing Tears. Musically, the album is an intersection of popular at that time gothic metal bands Tiamat and Paradise Lost, as well as Pink Floyd. The album was followed by a tour supporting Therion and Voivod.

In 2002, the album was released Serpentine. At this time, Manfred Bersin and Mike Volz had already left the band. The two, however, were not replaced until the guitars and keyboards have now played by Benjamin Buss alone. Eric Hilt also got out and was replaced by Stefan Gemballa. After the tour with Tiamat and Moonspell Stefanie Duchêne got out. As the successor undertook the band Helen Vogt, after they unsuccessfully sought six months after replacement. Vogt was first presented at the Wave -Gotik-Treffen 2003 and at various other festivals. Among other things, the band played at the London Astoria together with My Dying Bride.

The first album with Helen Vogt appeared in 2004. Razorbliss was produced by Waldemar Sorychta. Dirk Thurisch Angel Dust made ​​a guest appearance on the album. Mid- October 2004 died Björn Lorson and Christian Zimmer in a car accident.

Since 2007 the band is the label Ascendance Records, where they brought out both the live album " Invanity " and the studio production " Thy Kingdome Gone" (2008 produced by Kristian "Kohle " Kohlmannslehner in the coal cellar Studio).
