Football at the 1971 Pan American Games
For the sixth time in 1971 a football tournament were carried out at Pan-American Games. It was held in the Colombian cities of Cali, Cartago, Valle del Cauca, Buga, Palmira and Tuluá between 31 July and 12 August 1971.
Twelve teams took part, who entered first in three preliminary groups against each other. The qualifying teams then played in the league system in a last final round against each other. According to the first three places in the medals were distributed.
