Football at the 1975 Pan American Games

For the seventh time was in 1975 carried out a football tournament at Pan-American Games. It took place in four Mexican cities, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Toluca and Puebla between 13 and 25 October 1975. Thirteen teams took part. First, there were two rounds instead of group games in the league system, then there knockout matches. Mexico and Brazil shared the success. The Brazilian Cláudio Adão was top scorer with 10 goals. The later striker Real Madrid's Hugo Sanchez participated as a 17- year-old in the tournament, scoring seven goals.

Canada left the tournament. The precipitated game Canada -Costa Rica was considered for Costa Rica. The precipitated game Canada - Cuba was considered for Cuba.
