Football at the Mediterranean Games

Football belongs at the Mediterranean Games to the sports that are constantly in the Games program since 1951. The tournament takes place every four years in the year after the Summer Olympics, and 1991 in the respective previous year, instead. Participants are the national football teams of Mittelmeeranreiner from Africa, Asia and Europe, with European representatives compete in the rule with B or amateur teams. Israel is excluded for political reasons from participation. Andorra, San Marino and Serbia also take part, even though they are not located on the Mediterranean. A tournament in women's football was not yet held.
