Football in Denmark

Football is in Denmark, if you take the total number of players as a benchmark, the most popular sport. According to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to approximately 290,000 of the inhabitants of Denmark, of all ages, be active in a football club.

Danish Association and National

The Danish Football Association was founded in 1889. The first international match played the team of Denmark against France at the Olympic Games in London in 1908 and won the game 9-0.

Morten Olsen is the current coach of the Danish national football team. At the European Championships, the team was previously seven times here in Sweden in 1992 and took the title. At World Championships, Denmark had been represented four times and once reached the quarter - and twice the second round. In addition, the King Fahd Cup was won in 1995 which saw the emergence of the Confederations Cup.

Club football

Danish clubs in Europe

Danish clubs have been able to win a European competition (apart from the Royal League from ). But they are regulars in European competitions.
