Football team

A football club, football club or football club is a sports club, which establishes club teams for football. The principles also apply to sports clubs for football clubs: charitable, sporting fairness and recognition of the rules of the sport. In professional football, however, often play no more clubs, but corporations, ie the outsourced corporations in football departments of the sports clubs.

The name of a football club is made up mostly of a acronym (eg, FC ), a relic names (eg, Fortuna) and the place name or the name of the district in which the club is situated, together. In the reporting, it is also common for a city name is also used as a synonym for the football club (eg Stuttgart for VfB Stuttgart or Hamburg for the Hamburg SV).

Football clubs are organized in associations and contest sporting competitions for different age groups in leagues and Cup series.

Football clubs in East Germany

In the GDR, the term football club called the centers of the football elite sport. The footballing popular sport was organized in so-called company sports teams. Football teams in form of association did not exist, however.
