The Ford 400 is a NASCAR Sprint Cup race, which takes place at Homestead -Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida. The race is relatively new in the NASCAR racing calendar and is driven only since 1999. So far it has always been the season finale, mainly so because it is in a warm region of the United States, who is also in November the temperatures are still good enough to race.

In 1999 it launched under the name " Pennzoil 400 Presented by Kmart ", 2000 it was said " Pennzoil 400 Presented by Discount Auto Parts" and in 2001 it was called the " Pennzoil Freedom 400 ". Since the 2004 season, it was the last station in the then-new Chase for the Sprint Cup. Since the introduction of the Chase Greg Biffle has won all the races. 2004 Kurt Busch won in Homestead with a lead of eight points the championship before Jimmie Johnson. The end result of the scarcest NASCAR history.
