Forestier Peninsula

Geographical location

The Forestier Peninsula (English: Forestier Peninsula ) is a peninsula in the southeast of the Australian island of Tasmania, which lies about 60 km east of Hobart.

With the main island of Tasmania is at East Bay Neck, connected in the northwest of the peninsula, near the settlement of Dunalley. At Eaglehawk Neck to the south the Forestier Peninsula is connected to the Tasman Peninsula.

The Forestier Peninsula stretches for about 20 km in north-south direction and 15 km in the east-west direction. It belongs to the Local Government Area Tasman Municipality.

The northern part of the Tasman National Park stretches along the east coast of the peninsula to the Cape Surville. The Arthur Highway ( A9) they crossed on the way to the Tasman Peninsula.
