Forlì

Forlì is the capital of the Italian province of Forlì -Cesena in the Emilia- Romagna region of northern Italy with 116 029 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). In the inner city and medieval styles - Fascismo architecture mix.

Location

Forli is located on the eastern foothills of the Apennines on the railway line Bologna - Rimini. About 30 km north- west is the famous Italian circuit of Imola.

History

Forli was founded in 188 BC by the Roman consul Gaius Livius Salinator as a forum Livii. It was located on the Via Emilia.

Forlì ( alttosk. Furli or sometimes Frulli ) under stood since the consolidation of the Papal States, which came to the conclusion in this case 1503/ 04, the direct rule of the Church. Previously, it was the 9th century a free city, assumed in the period up to around 1500 a Vicariate and his family. From 1315 - 1480 it was under the Signoria of Ordelaffi. Education

In Forlì, there are some departments of the University of Bologna. Both International Politics ( Facoltà di Scienze Politiche " Roberto Ruffilli " ) as well as aviation, and the Institute of Interpreters and Translators ( SSLiMIT ) are internationally known.

Traffic

Forlì has an international airport and a railway station on the line Bologna - Rimini by Intercity hold.
