Föroya Bjór

Föroya Bjor (brand name, in the Faroese written language often: Føroya Bjor = "Beer of the Faroe Islands ") is the largest brewery in the Faroe Islands and is based in Klaksvík.

The word Bjor for beer comes in Faroese only in this brand name. Otherwise, ie beer, as øl in all other Scandinavian languages. Who in the Faroes one / two / three bottle ordered ( n ) Föroya Bjor says: " eina / tvær / tríggjar øl " if there is no other brand in the offer.

The brewery was founded in 1888 by Símun í Vági ( 1863-1935 ). Símuns son Einar Frovin Waag (1894-1989) was the successor, and now it is his son Einar Waag jun., Who runs the company with his brother.
