Foroyaa

Foroyaa is an opposition newspaper in The Gambia. There appear two editions a week. Office of the newspaper is the place Serekunda and the acting editor in chief Sam Sarr.

The name comes from the society of Mandinka, Foro means in the Mandinka language, the caste of the freeborn. The newspaper is connected with the party People's Democratic Organisation for Independence and Socialism ( PDOIS ), Halifa Sallah, the opposition politician and Sidia Jatta are also active as editors of the newspaper, which was founded in the mid-1980s along with the party.
