- 12.427222222222 - 64.423055555556Koordinaten: 12 ° 26 ' S, 64 ° 25' W Principe da Beira is situated on the lower reaches of the Rio Guaporé near the mouth of Río Mamoré place in the Brazilian state of Rondônia.

The place is known above all for the same star-shaped fort built in 1776-1783. This has a 10 meter high wall and four bastions, which were originally equipped with 14 cannons. It has remained, however, is only one of these guns. The total extent of the fortress wall is about one kilometer. Within the walls are the ruins of a chapel, from crew's quarters, service buildings and a prison. The fort is one of only two forts which Portugal had ever built inside Brazil and served to protect the border against the Spanish colonial empire. 1889, the military use of the fort was abandoned.
