Four Days in September ( O Que É Isso original title, companheiro? ) Is a political thriller by Brazilian director Bruno Barreto from the year 1997. One of the main roles played Alan Arkin.

The film is about a hostage of the U.S. ambassador in Brazil by a small group of Standing cons at the time of the military dictatorship. The Shown is based on the autobiographical account in The guerrillas are tired of Fernando Gabeira described events, as in 1969, the guerilla movement "MR -8" ( Movimento Revolucionario 8 de Outubro, dt about Revolutionary Movement October 8 ) the U.S. ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick kidnapped.

Action

The film follows the two friends Renee and Marcão that a group of resistance fighters left join. The fact that they know each other, they have to hide it, as a bond of friendship - and personal acquaintance as a whole - are not desirable. They are equipped with sham identities and undergo an extensive training.

The aim of the unit to which they have attached themselves, is the kidnapping of the U.S. ambassador to force the release of imprisoned comrades. Criticism

Interest

  • In Germany the film has not yet been released on DVD or VHS. There are only a DVD with the english subtitled original and the French-language dubbed version, which is marketed in Canada by Alliance Atlantis.
