Four Gates Pagoda

The Simen Pagoda or four-port Pagoda (Chinese四门塔, Pinyin Simen ta, english Simen Pagoda / Four - Door Pagoda ) in Jinan City, Shandong Province, China, dates back to the Sui Dynasty and is the oldest preserved stone pagoda in China. It is located in the present city of Licheng District and belonged to Shentong Temple (神通 寺, Shentong si).

It represents the straight, rectangular type of floor pagoda.

The pagoda stands since 1961 on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China ( 1-62 ).
