Fra Lippo Lippi (band)

Fra Lippo Lippi is a New Wave-/Synth-Pop- and post-punk band from Norway. She had several hits in the 1980s, including " Should not Have to Be Like That ", " Every Time I See You" and "Light and Shade ".

Biography

Bassist Rune Kristoffersen ( born September 22, 1957) and singer Öystein Per Sorensen ( born December 13, 1961) founded the band in 1980 and chose to use for the band name of the eponymous Italian painter of the 15th century ( 1406-1469 ) ( the English poet Robert Browning (1812 - 1889), who had lived long in Italy, the paintings mentioned in a poem ).

Were still strongly influenced by early post-punk and dark wave in the vein of Joy Division their first two works In Silence and Small Mercies, the band turned later gradually to the pop. Mid-1980s were known Fra Lippo Lippi also outside Norway. " Should not Have To Be Like That " was in the spring of 1986, although often on the radio, but could not place in the charts themselves.

Walter Becker, member of the band Steely Dan, produced her the 1987 album Light and Shade. Overall, the band released eleven albums.
