FrameNet

FrameNet is a project that is located in the International Computer Science Institute in Berkeley. It creates an on-line electronic dictionary of the English language, which is based on semantic frames. A semantic frame can be viewed as a concept with a script. This describes an object, a status or event. The lexical database of the project contains around 10,000 lexical items ( lexical units) ( tuple of a word and a meaning; polysemous words are represented by different lexical units), 800 semantic frames and over 120,000 example sentences.

FrameNet have been especially designed by Charles J. "Chuck" Fillmore.
