Francesca Battistelli
Francesca Battistelli ( born May 18, 1985 in New York ) is an American singer of the Christian pop.
Career
Battistelli's parents came from the theater and so they, too, took an early interest for musicals and she took theater and dance lessons. At 15, she was one of the band Bella, then came over to church to religious themes and became a singer and writer of Christian pop music. In 2004, she tried her first independent release of the album Just a Breath. But her breakthrough came in 2008 with the album My Paper Heart, which was released at Fervent Records. It reached # 4 on the Christian album charts and was over half a year on the Billboard 200, the song Free to Be Me was a number -one hit in the Christian songs and was nominated for a Grammy gospel. She also had with the song It's Your Life a hit in the official song charts.
With their third album Hundred More Years Francesca Battistelli debuted at No. 1 on the Christian album charts in March 2011.
