Francesco Pricolo

Francesco Pricolo (born 30 January 1891 in Saponara di Grumento, † October 14, 1980 in Rome ) was an Italian air force officer. From 1939 to 1941 he commanded the Italian Air Force.

Pricolo initially served as engineer officer in an airship battalion of the Italian Army. During the First World War, he took part on airships to about 60 combat missions. After the founding of the Italian Air Force ( Regia Aeronautica ), he stepped over to the new strike force, in which he commanded from 1933 to 1939, the 2nd Air Corps ( 2 ª squadra aerea ) in Padua. From 10 November 1939 to 15 November 1941, he was chief of staff at the top of the Italian Air Force. His successor was General Rino Corso Fougier.
